The Canterbury Cricket Trust is a registered charitable trust which has been formed to benefit cricket in Canterbury. The Trust is a separate entity closely linked to the Canterbury Cricket Association but operating independently from it. Control is in the hands of a Board of Trustees who are prominent business people who have a love of cricket & the ability to realise a vision for the future of the game.The first major project the Canterbury Cricket Trust was involved in was raising funds for the Hagley Oval Foundation to establish an international-standard quality ground. The success of this project has provided a permanent home for Canterbury Cricket and has enabled Christchurch to once again play host to prestigious international matches.This was followed by the lights project which saw the installation of 6 permanent light towers installed at Hagley Oval allowing us to host day/night matches. The 2020/2021 season saw us light up the Oval for the first time during a sold out double header Super Smash match followed later in the season by a sold out Blackcaps T20 match against Australia showcasing the lights.The Canterbury Cricket Trust administer the Hagley Oval Pavilion Club where the club's members enjoy unlimited access to test and international matches from the comfort of the Lexus of Christchurch Members Lounge in the Hadlee Pavilion.
