About Ode To Gaia
We started Ode to Gaia [🔈 oh-d to gaiya] in a garage space back in 2019 — when words like ‘plant-based' and ‘sustainable' hadn't yet caught India's fancy. In the last half-decade we've had quite the journey growing — from a home-kitchen to a 2,000 sqft commercial space in Chembur, Mumbai. Through it, we have crafted a range of desserts, and indeed, a new story in Indian pastry. We've championed homegrown ingredients, innovation and technique, and collaborations with renowned lifestyle brands, while also celebrating equity and equanimity within our core teams. And we've built a lot from scratch — be it our in-house white chocolate that we created to combat the lack of plant-based alternatives in the country, or a workspace that not only employed women, but also, added value in their individual lives. From sourcing fair-trade cacao from the depths of Malabar and Idukki to obtaining lavender from the serene climes of Kashmir, we've gone to great lengths, literally, in our endeavour of pushing the envelope and reinventing patisserie. It's been one hell of a ride, and we're excited about you joining us for the rest of it.
