About PanAfricare Kenya

After fifty years of improving the lives of Africans, Africare which is a well recognized and trusted NGO headquartered in Washington DC decided to wind down its operations in 2020. Africare's employees collectively initiated PanAfricare to continue carrying the mantle of Africare's mission across Sub-Saharan Africa. PanAfricare was established in July 2020, with its Headquarters in Dakar, Senegal. PanAfricare builds on technical and operational experience Africare has gained over the past decades of its existence in order to continue to serve African populations. The Bayer Foundation, in partnership with Africare, has committed $5 million over a five-year period to improve nutrition and access to healthy food for mothers and young children through the Improved Approach to Community-Based Nutrition (IMPACT) program in Turkana, Kenya. The aim is to significantly improve nutrition outcomes for pregnant and lactating women and infants and young children (<5 years of age).
