Since 1979, Zagat's mission has been to help diners find the best restaurant for their specific situation by connecting them to recommendations made by other trusted, like-minded diners. By bringing a community of people together over a shared passion and appreciation for restaurants, and encouraging them to share their intel and recommendations, it is our goal is to build the most credible and easily accessible database of crowd-sourced restaurant recommendations all over the world. In 2018, Zagat was acquired by The Infatuation, an editorially driven restaurant-discovery platform with a presence in cities across the U.S. and London. From an editorial perspective, the brands will continue to operate independent of each other – while The Infatuation’s reviews are written by its staff writers, Zagat’s reviews will continue to be informed by a community of avid diners.
