The UNITEK journey began in 1982 with the manufacture of emergency lights and burglar alarms. The company then began spreading its wings in the field of electronics, gaining popularity as the leading manufacturer of UPS in South India, under the brand names UNITEK and ALLTEK. In 2007, UNITEK became a public limited company with the name UNITEK Power Solutions. In 2008, it obtained ISO 9001 certification and subsequently, in recognition of its contribution to the industry, UNITEK was awarded the prestigious Times of India Award for Excellence in Power Industry. A tie-up with the Italian firm, BORRI Industrial Power Solutions (Italy), catapulted UNITEK into the international league with regard to its industrial and standard UPS. By 2012, UNITEK had established itself as a premium brand in the industry circles and was ready to go solo in its onward journey. Inspired by the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, UNITEK is now rapidly growing into the single largest provider of world-class integrated power solutions across a wide range of business sectors.
